As an 18-year veteran of the solar industry, I have focused on the latest technologies and business methods required for the operations and asset management of solar power and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolios.
During my time at Fat Spaniel from 2005 to 2011, I had the opportunity to create the first Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) PV performance ratios. I also played a role in developing the execution of the CSI settlement program. Additionally, I was involved in creating one of the first comprehensive Pro Forma calculators used to evaluate the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of commercial installations.
From 2017 to 2023, I had the privilege of overseeing the interconnection, commissioning, and operations of the first utility-scale bifacial power plant. During this period, I contributed to negotiating and executing the first hybrid PV plus storage Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Eland Power Plant, resulting in the recognition of several patents. Moreover, I successfully negotiated the first 25-year battery supply and Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) for Eland.
In my role, I also had the opportunity to train the BESS Integrator in developing innovative control algorithms to forecast and dispatch the PV and BESS in an integrated manner, aligning with the utility's transmission needs. Furthermore, I effectively managed our research and development processes, which included testing the reliability and performance of all key PV and BESS components.

Over the course of my career I've lead teams and trained asset managers, performance engineers, operators, owners, and utility personnel on how to best manage solar assets for a broad range of portfolios (residential, industrial, utility, or mixed).
I've consulted and developed performance monitoring and metering systems, O&M plans, QA/QC, and asset management strategies for over 2500 installations totaling 3+ Gigawatts of installed capacity.
